ABOUT // CV

Originally from the Inland Northwest and currently residing in Portland, Oregon, Kelly Delay has devoted more than twenty years to honing his photography skills and refining his artistic vision. Having experienced poverty during his early years, he explored various creative outlets as a means to alleviate those conditions. These experiences ultimately shaped the subject matter of his photography, which defines his photographic content. As a distinct part of his process, he travels to various towns and cities capturing the universality of human creation, which could be defined as urban realism.

Delay’s artistic evolution primarily took place through self-guided learning and constant engagement with photography. Despite being involved in photography for a considerable period, he only decided to showcase his work to the public in 2019. His debut was marked by a group exhibition at Blackbox Gallery in Portland, which was followed by a solo exhibition at Junior’s Cafe, also located in Portland. Since then, he has continued to present his work through various exhibitions in the Portland area.
